Oh that wasn't so bad! If the groom had whipped out a cellphone to do that and interrupted everything, not cool. However, it was obviously planned, therefore it becomes cute. :)
Jay, Jay, Jay . . . "Facebook" and "cute" don't go together!
I find it very funny(in a good way), they were spoofing the extreme that most people dont live by, I have heard of cases where people have decided to get rid of some of the relational information on there facebook and then got calls making sure the marriage was alright.
would you care to elaborate on why this somewhat funny video is justification to not be on facebook?
I certainly respect the decision not to be 'out there' in certain ways, and you seem to make up for it using a different forum, but your statement isn't really clear.

Hey Terry, good question. To me, seeing someone interrupting something as important as their marriage vows to update their status . . . well, that just turns me off to the medium. Don't get me wrong, I see the humor in the episode, there is just something about it that disturbs me on a deep level. I have many beefs with facebook, so maybe I'm just looking for excuses to add another one? Hmmm . . . I'll have to reflect on that.
I think the big thing to note here is the bride and groom planned it together (as evidenced by him whipping out a phone for her as well). I'm all for having some fun during a wedding ceremony, as it is a happy occasion.
Can I ask what your specific beef with Facebook is? It's a social medium to keep in touch with others and share your thoughts...which is similar to blogging when you think about it.
I used to be anti-Facebook too, but I think I may have just been rebelling against the social fixation on it rather than judging it on its own merit.
I am very on the same page as Jay - I thought it was funny, especially once he handed his new bride the phone. I also think in a way that it was neat that even though this couple planned it to be funny, they still shared with all who are "friends" with them ASAP that they are now in a new phase of their relationship.
As for Facebook - I think that you can use it for what you would like to. I used to go on once a week at the most, now I usually check in once a day (sometimes more, sometimes less). It is good for me that I can keep up with people and see pics of their families, reconnect with old friends and catch up on their lives.
I think Michael is in the same boat as ou - not ever wanting to be on Facebook, but his aversion to it is rebelling against the social fixation that Jay mentioned.
Hahahahahaha!!!!!!! That was hilarious!!!! Oh lighten up people...that was funny and very very cute. Really that was the technological equivalent to you and Jobina walking back down the isle to the halelujah chorus!
