Missing the Jets

I have always been sad that the Winnipeg Jets (1972-1996) folded as an NHL franchise. Though they were never very successful, but like many other Manitobans I supported and loved them. Garry Bettman, commissioner of the NHL recently made some comments about the NHL returning to Winnipeg in his yearly "state of the union address." Could it really happen? I am almost afraid to hope.

May Light increase!

Sorry man, but Winnipeg can't financially support another NHL franchise. I'd give it 3 years to an optimistic 5 years before it would fold.

NHL games aren't cheap. Manitobans are.

gary bettman's just trying to get our hopes up and jay is right with how much it costs to run an nhl team nowadays if winnipeg got one it would just fold within 3 to 5 years. plus with bettman as commissioner it would never happen.
