Cool Idea: Dissapearing Car Doors

This is such an incredibly great idea, I am stunned. Kudos to whoever thought outside the box on this one.

As usual, my first question when I see something like this is "Is it real or not?"

It's a neat idea, but I don't know that it would work in a winter climate like ours. Reasons being:

- How will cold temperatures affect the door's ability to operate? My trunk didn't want to open in the cold today, and that's only springs.

- Does the door have to be free of snow and ice to open and close?

And regardless of climate, I shudder to think what it would cost to repair such a door were it to break.

Looks cool though.

Jay: Absolutely, this design is not "great" for any climate really. What happens if the battery dies? What happens if it gets stuck?

To me, the beauty of the design is in how it looks. It looks really cool! I would love to see people's reactions to you when you arrive somewhere. A toy to be sure, but a really cool toy!

That is so cool! Probably not practical at all, but still very very cool!

phenononal idea! especially becuase the driver's door on the car i drive (an old silver station wagon)always shuts on me! i open it to get out and it comes back at me like a hungry, angry monstor wanting to devour me and to never let me out!
