Deep Question: Confidence and Humility

Deep Question: Are confidence and humility mutually exclusive? If they aren't, what do they look like together? I've been thinking about this and am so far undecided . . .

That's easy, Mark. They look like Dad!

Wow, Michelle, you've payed Dad a very high compliment! Can you explain a bit more why?

I have watched Dad for 32 years. He is confident in his abilities but is humble enough to know that he can't do anything without God by his side and that God could take it away at any moment. He's a smart man and knows it but is aware that his wisdom is nothing compared to God. He's not cocky as many in his profession are. He doesn't flaunt the things he has but is grateful for the things that God has given him and shares his good fortune with people in need. He doesn't count himself better than others, but rather treats everyone equally. He will talk to a person begging for change on the street with the same smile and humor that he uses with his own family. That, to me, is someone who is humble, yet confident.
