Blind Boys of Alabama

I love all kinds of music! Some of my criteria for what makes music good is something with a little meaning. Johnny Cash is good for songs with a story. I think a good song should also want to make you move a little, get some jive in your bones! I am also of the opinion that there are all kinds of music out there that insire me to worship - not just the typical churchy worship songs.

I heard of the Blind Boys of Alabama just yesterday and these guys are great! My husband heard of them first and found out they are coming to Winnipeg 05/23/2008 at the MTS center. This is bluesy music with passion and soul, baby! I love it! There is a neat video on their website, - I can't figure out how to get it here, but I got the link!

(I took a holiday from blogging yesterday, I guess Mark will find out eventually! My apologies to those of you who rely on daily posts, even on weekends when you are entertaining your in-laws!)

I agree with you that you don't have to always listen to "churchy worship songs". Quite frankly, I'd get sick of worship songs if that was all I listened to!

I personally like country music because there are a lot of songs out there about life, family, love, and God too. Yes, there are songs about drinking, divorce, and bars, but hey, in any genre you're going to have a wide variety of topics.
